Residents in parts of the northern UAE, including Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, reported light tremors. However, authorities assured the public that the earthquake had no direct impact on the UAE, and no damage or casualties were reported.
The Musandam Peninsula, located in the far north of Oman, is a seismically active region due to its proximity to tectonic boundaries along the Zagros fold and thrust belt.
The NCM regularly monitors such seismic activity through its advanced network of sensors across the region.
Officials reiterated that UAE infrastructure remains safe, and the country’s geological stability continues to minimize the risk of major tremors.
The public has been advised to rely only on official updates issued by the National Centre of Meteorology and not to spread unverified information on social media platforms.
