Decision confirmed. Azad Kashmir government will be change

PPP Set to Form New Government in Azad Kashmir After Political Shift

In a major political development, the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is set for a significant change as the path to forming a new government has been paved for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The PPP, which currently holds 17 seats in the Legislative Assembly, is poised to form the next government without the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) but with the support of 12 Forward block and allied members.

This political shift follows growing dissatisfaction with the leadership of Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, who has faced criticism for failing to effectively run the state system. Decision-makers have now acknowledged that the “hybrid system experiment” has failed, resulting in administrative paralysis across the assembly, cabinet, bureaucracy, and parliamentary processes for nearly 30 months.

Analysts suggest that the experiment of governing based on personal preferences rather than constitutional and legal principles has led to political instability and governance challenges. The disruption of political and religious harmony across the region has also been cited as a major concern.

As the PPP prepares to take charge, calls are being made for political parties in Azad Kashmir to return to genuine democratic values, uphold constitutional authority, and make timely political decisions in the interest of the people. The leadership is urged to act responsibly, restore political tolerance, and rebuild public trust in state institutions.

May peace, unity, and progress return to Azad Kashmir as it enters a new political chapter.
